Saturday, May 18th as part of 2nd Edition of the South Ladies Cup https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27594-haiti-news-zapping.html , our Grenadières U-20, for which tournament serves as preparatory matches for the next international meetings, faced on the lawn of the Stadium of Honor (salon de Provence) the powerful North Korea team, winner of the South Ladies Cup 2019 to the detriment of the Bleuettes (France) given favorite of this tournament.

Our valiant Grenadières, despite their efforts, their fighting spirit and their courage, lost [4-0] to the incredible technical mastery and the very high maturity of the game of the North Koreans very solid defense and rapid counterattacks...

In the first minutes the players of Sung Gwon Song were dangerous in this encounter, missing in the first 10 minutes two opportunities to open the scoring but without finding the flaw in our Grenadières.

Ji Hwa Yun opened the scoring for North Korea at 25'[1-0]. The Grenadières are trying to react but the North Koreans are locking the game. Note that no team in this tournament could find the path of the Korean nets... Protected by Gerardo Contreras manage to combine but are not dangerous enough to worry the Koreans.

On a free kick on the left, Ji Hwa Yun cut the ball and scored a second goal (doubled) to 52' for Korea [2-0]. It is still Ji Hwa Yun who scored a 3rd goal at 82' (his treble) [3-0].

Unable to fight against the powerful Korean machine, our Grenadières take a fourth and last goal in the 85' following a header from captain Kum Hyang Ri on corner.

A tournament rich in experiences for our Grenadières who have learned a lot and who will know how to draw the lessons, especially during the next qualifiers for the U-20 and U-17 Women's World Cup.
